Our apple tree...and a very fun sketch session

Our backyard apple tree is in full bloom!

And it's spring at Windjammer Park in Oak Harbor. The wind was a little cold so we moved on indoors to Flyers.  Much fun sketching and catching up over food and wine.  So much to draw there....

Art Everywhere

This lively piece was on Bill and Amy's Adams' wall, setting the stage for an entire home  filled with art and whimsey. Thank you Pat, for arranging with these delightful friends to let us come sketch. What an oasis of color!

Sheep Shearing Event!

Sheep shearing on Whidbey, Welsh style! Claudia and Chuck Pettis invited to watch Welshman Eifion Morgan shear at their farm yesterday. It was bright and sunny, and cold. Amazing to see this process done by such a professional! In a blink, almost....each sheep came out got a haircut, then trotted off into the sunny pasture.

The rest of us all just watched.

Claudia skillfully gave pedicures and shots when required.
Schoolchildren were among the watchers...
Electric clipper!
And finally....one white sheep.

More Catch-Up

Where did time go.....? Whidbey Sketchers enjoyed an
evening at the Anchor Pub in Everett to sketch the wonderful
Magnolia Big Band. This is a view of the bar below.

The Big Band in Action. Some have been with the
group since the 1980's!

This great line up happened as the group
arrived and was setting up.

A Little Bit of Catch up

I've been a derelict poster.... Now it's November.
I'll begin with yesterday afternoon's Puget Sound
Group Annual Auction at the Design Center in
Seattle. Some wonderful art went for such
reasonable prices.....This group has an amazing
history and amazing talent archive.

The group has a gallery on the second floor of
the Design Center open to the public. If you are
in the area, take time for a visit.

A switch, to my Granny week with son Sam's family
in Aruba. The water is as turquoise as it looks, the
beaches white powder sand, the people very friendly
and my grandchildren adorable. This is from Baby Beach
a sheltered shallow bay at the south end of the Island.

Catch up

Time goes by so quickly I'm not even sure what day it is! This yummy brownie, I definitely recommend it, is from Anchor Books and Coffee, an inviting new spot in Clinton next to Wild Birds Unlimited.

Kay Alsip and Chad Harding, volunteer models on the street at Langley's Fashion Weekend. Much fun and merriment and wonderful fashion choices from the wide range of Langley's merchants!

And Truman's oil sketch of Rod's house in Mexico, site of an elegant last dinner before coming home.
