Cynthia's Home

Blue is the color that Cynthia loves, the blue sky and water views outside to the beautiful blue accessories inside.  This was fun and blue brings peace.  Pat

Greenbank Store

It was a sunny day out there!  Sue sketching.

The blue chair that caught my eye, on the way out the door!
Long time since I sketched and posted.  This day was a perfect time to play catch up with friends.
The sun was deceiving because it was very cold outside and delightful inside. Pat

Coupeville Races

I managed to make it to Coupeville, but it was Monday.  The boats were sailing up and down the center of Penn Cove, kids were playing in the muck on the beach and the tide was what I call a super minus.

SW Commons

Hi Petra,
I couldn't be there on Wednesday at the proper time, so ended up taking photos and working from them.  The light was nice, but I think you were closed.  Somehow these sketches seem static to me and I would like to do better, but lately time..... Pat

Dean Tile & Design Studio

Forest-like heads carved out of clay and transformed into vessels for sedum leave you feeling like you are visiting a charmed woodland.

Sketch Rally

Who was it that sang that song "On the Road again". Roger someone?  Well we were on the road this week with a challenge, something rusty, something with 2 ears and a tail and something odd.  If you count the sun shining and warmth as something odd, my beach fort will fit the category.  Otherwise, I found a llama with a very strange colored coat, that reminded me of a giraffe.  The rust was a lovely sculpture done by Jean Whitesavage at the Bayview park and ride.  Look her up if you want to be impressed by large botanical work.
I promise.  The crooked horizon line was the scanner.

Cute face, but change the coat!

South Whidbey Commons

Sunday was a Summer Fun Fest 2011 at the South Whidbey Commons.  Hot Dog on A Stick prepared corn dogs and fresh lemonade,  The Tree top Bakery prepared the most delicious cake, entertainment was Trio Neuvo, a poet and another small group that I didn't catch the name.  Kids played with bubbles and dress up, china painting on the back patio.  All in all it was a Fun Fest and a good sketching opportunity, not to mention that my daughter and granddaughter were involved in providing the food from HDS, so I got to enjoy their company.
Cute Lahsa Apsos?

Sketch Rally

Highway 525 seemed to dangerous to pull over and sketch on, but next time I will try.  Everyone else seemed to manage, so I promise to do better in the future.
Little Red Barn

Can you see why it looks like a coffee pot?  Depressing rainy colors!
I found Langley Rd tempting and sketched the big ?coffeepot by Waterman Storage.  It has something to do with lumber/milling wood, I think.  After this adventure in the pouring rain, turning on the wipers to be able to see, I met Betty and we drove around looking for animals.  They were all in hiding!  We found this cute barn we couldn't resist.  The neighbors drove by and asked what we were doing parking on their road.  Jeesh!  We showed them the sketchbook and were approved.
